    digital downloads

I am considering adding digital downloads to my zenfolio site but would like some input from current users before starting.

I am exploring the possiblity of selling images to a few magazines that use outside vendors. Which of the license agreements might be appropriate for the magazines as well as the general public?

thanks in advance for your help

    Hi there,

Well, you can creat a custom editorial license, where you specify the value of the digital file depending of the final use:

EX: I am an editorial photographer and I sell images to magazines, newspapers, and the same image can have different prices, depending on the final use:

    Magazine

    1 time only

Unlimited use during a 1yr period

Web use only but no printing.

    etc.

one single image can have different prices, but if you put one price for the editorial use,  let's say $50 per image, it can be cheap for a full page of expensive for a small res file published on the web.

I've using another photo service to post my editorial work, and zenfolio for special events  the ones that come with a flat rate per event, and not per image.

    Hope it helps,

    Jc

...forgot to mention, for the general public, you can easily create a custom personal use only license. (print only or unlimited use on the web)

Personal licensed are less complicated than editorial use licenses.
