    Re: ApertureToZenfolio: Official Support Thread

Hi I had the same thing. In finder press the alt key and then select home folder (the one with the house symbol, I'm sorry but I have the Dutch version of OS X). Then look for app supp and the rest of the above mentioned path. You will find it there.

Anyone know how to unzip this thing. It does not work for me???

    Zenfolio Aperture Plug-In

This downloads, does not unzip then says it is installed but I don't know where it went! I closed and restarted Aperture and it still says I have no plug-ins installed in the export link. I have a Library/App Support/Aperture/Plug-in Folder but not /export. I tried to drop the Zenfolio export plug-in into that Plug-In folder but got the message that I cannot alter that folder. No export folder that I can find. Any suggestions would be appreciated. This is a nightmare trying to get photos from Mac with Lion 10.7.4 and Aperture 3.3.2

    Thanks-Kaaren

    Re: ApertureToZenfolio: Official Support Thread

I as well apologize for asking the same question, but I have a new Mac. I am trying to upload Zenfolio onto it. I am not able to do it. I have it on all of my other IMac's and other laptop. When I contacted Zenfolio they instructed me I had to contact this forum. Which I am a little upset about since I pay them to host. I have clients that need to view their photos.

Does anyone know how this issue is resolved? My file will go into aperture it just shows up as the logo. It does not see it as anything else. Not as a plug-in. Thank you so much in advance.

    Aperture plug-in Problem

I have upgraded to Mountain Lion and my Aperture plug-in does not work. I downloaded the latest plug-in , put it in the plugin/export folder. However I cannot creat any new album tittles and I am unable to upload. Anyone have any ideas? Snow Leopard version worked flawlessly.

Can you please verify and tell me the full path of the folder you put it in?

I can't really be of much help if your computer won't unzip the download file, but if you unzip the downloaded file you will have a file named ApertureToZenfolio.ApertureExport.

As far as the installation folder, it's pretty simple. Aperture plugins can go in either /Library/Application Support/Aperture/Plug-Ins/Export or /Users/username/Library/Application Support/Aperture/Plug-Ins/Export. If the folder doesn't exist, create it. If you don't have permissions to create it, use Google to find out how to change permissions. These are the only options Apple has made available for plugin locations.

    David,

I don't think you get the comment. It is not about people not having the skills to unzip the file. The file does not work. It simply will not unzip!!

Hi David, just wanted to add a note here so as users are not confused on what folder to create if it's not there, I assuming the "Export" folder inside the "Plug-Ins" folder is the one your referring to.

And as another note I wonder why you haven't used some type of package installer to install this plugin?

    Cheers

I do get it, but my comment had nothing to do with anybody's skills. I've checked the download every time someone mentions it. It has always downloaded and unzipped. It unzips for almost all users, so I'm not sure what I can do for that. Could be an OS issue or something with individual settings.

I did think of one way just now, you can open Terminal and run the Unix unzip command.

I'm referring to the entire path. Any part that is not there will have to be created.

I have, it caused many issues so I moved back to the manual install.

    Re: Zenfolio Aperture Plug-In

David, I CAN unzip a file, thanks. I am not quite the idiot your very delayed and condescending response implies.  I fail to understand why the Flicker export plug-in downloaded and went to the correct location with no difficulty but the Zenfolio one is such a problem. In fact, the Flicker plug in installed an Export folder inside the plug-in folder all by itself. (As you said "if the folder doesn't exist, create it"--Flicker did that without my aid.) It should not be so difficult to get pictures from Aperture to Zenfolio. The Zenfolio plug-in simply refuses to be installed in the proper place and keeps installing in Aperture as a folder under the projects section.  I dropped the folder into the Library/Application Support/Aperture/Plug-ins/Export folder but it nonetheless fails to appear while the Flicker plug-in does. I have installed this before in my older iMac running Snow Leopard and had NO problems--now I am finished trying.

Wow, sorry you took it that way. I was referring to the computer's ability to unzip a file. Not sure where "idiot" and "condescending" came from. Computers have a way of not working as you know.

I'm a one person development team providing a free plugin. I can't give everybody the kind of support they need apparently. I have a life.

The plugin has worked this way for many years, your case is an exception. There is something different about your setup for it not to work.

I apologize for letting my frustration get the better of me. I should be beating up my Mac, not you.

No problem. It is difficult to communicate when it's not face to face :-)

I'd like to see exactly what the problem is in your case in case it comes up again. Can we verify the full path and filename of the plugin again? I may move back to an installer by default and a manual installation for backup.

    Re: Zenfolio Aperture Plug-In

    David,

    I'm also having a similiar

problem as Karen. I have a mac os x lion 10.7.5. I've downloaded the plug in several times. I double click on it to unzip and it looks like it opens and installs in Aperture, but it is a folder under the Projects title. click on that and it does nothing. Really need to upload to Zenfolio. Please advise. I've no idea how to look for the path that you talk about. Please help. Your older plug in works great on my older mac.

    Pam
