Changing slide show transition time duration

Is there a way to lengthen the transition time in slide shows?  I find the cross-fade, as well as the fade to white or black, too quick and would like to lengthen the transition.  But I don't see a control for that.  Is there one?

From your main 'edit view' page, click 'customise homepage' then select slideshow from the tabs that appear. It can all be adjusted in there. Yes

Gary,  you can adjust the length of time the slide stays present,  but you can't adjust the length of the actual transition there--unless I am missing something.  I too would like to know how to slow down the actual transition itself.

Ah sorry, i misread it the first time. Thought it was just the time for each image to be displayed not the fade itself. Apologies.

Re: Changing slide show transition time duration

It's not possible to adjust the transition time between slides with the Zenfolio slideshows.  The length of the transitions is set by the system.

You may find that creating slideshows with an outside program, such as ProShow Web (one of our Benefits partners: http://www.zenfolio.com/zf/benefits/proshow.aspx ), as they can offer more control over the different aspects of the slideshow.  These can then be embedded into Custom or Blog pages.

    Thanks!

Thanks Brian,  Perhaps a request to embed "custom" slide in the home page would be in order----But I don't know how this would effect the rest of the fixed home page formatting.

Is it possible to embed code in the home page with ZF?

Re: Changing slide show transition time duration

It's not possible to add or adjust the coding on any of the built-in pages, including the Homepage, but you do have the option to embed them into any custom page or blog page.

You could easily link to this custom/blog page from your Site Menu on the Homepage.

Alternatively, at the Premium level accounts, if you create a Custom Page that you like ,you can set that as your Homepage using the External Homepage feature: http://help.zenfolio.com/customer/portal/articles/407961-using-an-external-home-page

    Thanks!

Re: Changing slide show transition time duration

I think the inability to do this seemingly simple customization (changing transition time length) is a notable shortcoming of Zenfolio.  Yes, I could build an external home page with my own slide show video, but that is very inconvenient compared to the wonderfully easy and mostly well-integrated Zenfolio system.

Since the Home page is the first thing visitors see, and the slideshow is the obviously dominant visual element, it seems very important to me that it be as beautiful as possible.  Transition time duration makes a big difference in "feeling" or "mood" of the slideshow.

Do others find this an important deficiency of Zenfolio?

Re: Changing slide show transition time duration

For what its worth,  You can now use a movie in your slide show and you can make a movie/slideshow in a variety of programs.  This gives you the flexibility to do just about anything with the slideshow.

Here is what I did with about 1 hour of work in Adobe Premier Elements (most of that time was just trying to figure out how to do it.) Still some details to work out but I think this is a nice alternative to the basic slideshow.

    Good luck,

Your home page movie does not show up on my iPad.  I tried the same thing and am having the same problem. I contacted after support about this, but have not yet received a fix.  Might it be a Flash issue?  (Does after use Flash?)

I really like your wolf photos

Re: Changing slide show transition time duration

Joel,  your guess is as good as mine;  But I would guess that you are correct.  It is likely a Flash issue.

As far as the Wolves,  thanks.  Those pictures were taken at the Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary in Western New Mexico.  For a small fee ($50.00 per hour) they will let photographers in the habitats with the wolves.  It was unnerving but I stayed two hours and it was worth every penny.  Also,  all of the money goes to the care and feeding of the wolves---

Let us know what the tech reps say about this issue.
