Hobby Photos - showing, how do people buy if they want???

HI! SHORT STORY: I'm a hobby photographer and want to know how you think ZENFOLIO would work to share team photos.  I have been the family photographer since I was a kid. I want to take sport photos of a basketball team. I don't expect to sell the photos or make money.

ZENFOLIO will work for me for either $30 or maybe $60 a year.  However, what are the price of the photos and shipping for anyone who does wish to buy photos?  THANKS!  :)

LONG STORY: I'm not a professional and always state that fact before I take photos of wedding receptions, sport teams, etc.... I tell them that "You get what you pay for." I've taken fun / candid photos at eight weddings / receptions since May - some I was an invited guest, all asked me to take the photos. Every wedding I attended had a professional photographer. (NOT ME!) I don't make any money. I never have. I certainly don't want to take money from a professional's business. I'm pretty sure that the pros don't think I'm a threat! :)
I do it for fun, because I love to take photos. I don't edit. I don't know how. I just upload and share. I really don't feel good enough to charge for my photos.
I've never started a business because I don't really think I can make money enough to justify the hassle, etc...plus the taxes/legal issuesinvolved, plus then I would feel pressured to produce. Now, I tell them every image I get, that is good, is a bonus. No expectations, no pressure.
Over the four years my daughter played high school sports - basketball and softball, I took thousands of photos of several of the teams. For fun. For free. What do I get out of it? I LOVE to do it! I really enjoy seeing people use my photos I took of them on their FACEBOOK page, etc........that's what I get out of it! :)
I've been asked to take high school basketball photos this season. I don't plan to charge anything or make any money. Do you think ZENFOLIO would be best?  If not, what do you recommend? (Inexpensive or free?) The other thing is, if I don't charge for photos and I can only attend a couple of games over the season, that is what I will do. If I were being paid, I would feel pressure to attend every game, etc.... However, I still need to be able to give out a specific website address so the basketball players / coaches can see the photos. THANK YOU, in advance, for your time to read and consider answering my question. I sincerely appreciate your help! :)

    Hi Janice,

Whatever you goal is (fun or business) Zenfolio is a high quality solution and that especially if you plan to sell prints. Which is what you may have to do if you're asked to take picture. You have a good chance that people will ask for prints afterward.

In this kind of situation, yes Zenfolio is a very good solution.

There are too many kind of prints available to answer your question about print prices. And this depend also of your location in the world. I would recommend you to take the 14 days trial offer and have a look to each lab prices. Pay attention to shipping costs because some of them are really expensive, but some other are correct.

Last but not least, if you decide to go for a paid subscription, don't forget referral codes peoples are offering all around this forum, in order to get a 10 % discount !

    Hope this help.

I don't believe you can sell products to others on either of the lowest two levels i.e. you need to have a premium account.

You could allow simple downloading of files, which would mean interested parties could download the photos they liked and then upload them to a print vendor of their choice (or print at home of course).

Sales aside, for $30 you can have your own attractive site with all your photos backed up online and a lot of control over what is/isn't visible - I consider this good value.

Being able to purchase prints is available on the cheaper plans, you just can't set a markup on the prices so you don't make any profit off of them. Geeked

Completely agree with the rest of the statements above, it is a great platform for having a nice, goodlooking and easy to manage site.
